Tom and Nara McDonald
Co-founders, Directors
Before helping build Camp Taiwan, Tom was greater China regional director for an international HR consulting and staffing company. He and his wife Nara have made Taiwan their home for well over two decades and it is now home to their two children as well. Tom is an avid outdoorsman and sees Camp Taiwan as his contribution to outdoor learning in Asia.
Nara’s extensive background in education makes camp the perfect place for young people to grow and learn. Previously the director of an international preschool in Taipei, Nara jumped at the opportunity to combine her love of the traditions of North American camps with her fondness for her adopted home. She recalls summers spent at camp back home in Canada in her youth as formative experiences.
Morty Chu-Langslow
Co-founder, Director
Morty is the Chairperson of the Lenton Group, an international logistics company. She is a longtime supporter of outdoor education in Taiwan.

- Counselors: Approximately 15 dedicated, energetic individuals fill out Camp Taiwan’s summer program. Tom and Nara personally recruit counselors for summer and school camps from North America, Europe, Asia and all points in between. Our diverse staff, like our campers, add a unique flavor to our camp community.
