Three Main Goals For Campers
- Increased connection to the outdoors and knowledge of Northern Taiwan’s Eco–System
- Increased confidence in themselves to live both independently and inter-dependently within a group of peers
- Learn skills that contribute to a lifelong enjoyment of camping and the outdoors
Classes & Electives
Each camper will participate in our standard classes giving them a chance to sample each activity. Campers choose which activities they would like to focus on during their elective courses to learn more advanced skills and receive individual attention. During these elective courses they can work toward achieving Level Patch Awards.

Activities include: Climbing, High Ropes, Campcraft, Nature Crafts, Archery, Orienteering, Cooperative Games, River Tracing, Sports, Night Games, Campfires, Songs, Stories.
Why Camp Taiwan is Special
Everyone who comes to Camp Taiwan is amazed by the lush subtropical jungle that is our environment. Visitors often say that being at camp is like traveling back in time when the dinosaurs roamed the earth or like something from another planet. It is no wonder that one of this year’s themes is inspired by the movie Avatar; a world where plants are precious and the natural wold is worth fighting for. We also draw inspiration this year from the movie How to Train your Dragon. We are inspired by the mystical and cultural aspects of dragons moreover many campers come to us with little understanding of the “scary” bugs and animals in the rainforest. Getting to know and understand these scary critters helps to foster appreciation and respect — which is the central theme in the movie and at Camp.

Our Mission is to help build stronger communities. Strength is achieved through respecting and embracing diversity. Adults and children with diverse skill sets (no one is good at everything) have a chance to challenge themselves in a nature-retreat setting.
We seek to build strong leadership and team skills, foster respect for individual strengths and weaknesses and for the environment. We do this by creating playful and dynamic adventure, art and agricultural programs that help groups to get connected to each other and to nature.
