Last night's party night was a huge success. The campers played games, listened to music and danced late into the night (9 pm).
This morning, we continued with the free choice activities. Campers could choose their favorite activities from zip-lining, archery, crafts, climbing, shrimping/bug hunting, or river tracing. There will be no team photos in the folder today. You will have to search for your children in the activity folders.
The teen campers (Purple team) had their outdoor survival/cooking class today. They learned to make a fire, and they cooked bamboo rice and barbecued meat in the fire. They ate the meat for lunch, but they will have the bamboo rice with their dinner.
Tonight, we will have our closing campfire. Camper have made lots of friends here over the week and the closing campfire is a nice ending to camp. There is a bit of a ceremony, and then the campers put on a little play or skit. The team with the best performance gets an Oscar sticker for their sticker card.
A quick reminder that the pickup time on Saturday is 3:00 pm. Please remember to bring the little pickup card you were given on Monday. If you are sending someone else to pick up your camper, please be sure they have the card. If you have made arrangements other than you picking up your children and you have not notified us, please let us know in advance.
A couple of notes on pictures:
Tomorrow afternoon, I will post a link to the folder with the whole week's pictures, including the end of week slideshow and video. I suggest you wait to watch it with your children so they can explain what is going on. It is a great way to share in their experience. Please remember that the link will be removed from the blog when the next group arrives. However, the link will remain active. If you copy and save it, you will be able view the photos at your convenience.
Some activities are not easy for the counselors to photograph because they are directly involved in ensuring your children's safety (e.g. climbing). We do have a photographer that goes from activity to activity, but since the campers are moving from activity to activity instead of staying in teams, it is not possible to ensure that the photographer encounters every camper. If you notice fewer pictures of your camper today, we ask for your understanding.
That is all for today. Enjoy the pictures here and we will see you tomorrow.
Best regards,
Camp Taiwan Team.
